Sunnystep is hiring an AI Engineer to build practical AI systems that improve how the company operates. This role is for someone who can ship real tools, connect AI with business workflows, and turn manual processes into scalable systems. We are not looking for someone who only experiments with AI models. We need a builder who can understand business problems, design solutions, and make them work reliably. You will work across areas such as customer experience, retail operations, marketing, recruitment, product, sales analysis, inventory planning, reporting, and internal automation. The goal is to build AI systems that help teams make better decisions, reduce repetitive work, improve speed, and increase output quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain AI agents, automation workflows, internal tools, dashboards, and data pipelines.
  • Integrate LLMs with company documents, databases, spreadsheets, APIs, communication tools, and operational workflows.
  • Develop prototypes quickly, test them with users, and turn successful prototypes into reliable production tools.
  • Work with business teams to identify high-impact automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Build AI-enabled tools for use cases such as customer support, candidate screening, sales analysis, inventory planning, marketing automation, reporting, and knowledge management.
  • Improve AI reliability through prompt design, structured outputs, evaluation, monitoring, error handling, and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Maintain clean code, documentation, version control, and handover notes.
  • Debug issues, improve system performance, and ensure tools are usable by non-technical teams.
  • Help Sunnystep become more AI-native by reducing manual work across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong Python or JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
  • Experience working with LLM APIs, AI agents, RAG, workflow automation, data integrations, or internal tools.
  • Comfortable with APIs, databases, cloud tools, Git, and basic software engineering practices.
  • Able to understand business workflows and turn ambiguous problems into working systems.
  • Strong debugging ability, ownership, learning speed, and attention to detail.
  • Bonus: experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, automation platforms, web apps, dashboards, or operations tooling.

We are looking for someone who is practical, fast, and systems-minded. The best candidate will enjoy building useful AI tools, working close to business teams, and seeing their work directly improve company performance.
