Our client, based in Whitland, are looking for a Stores and Yard Controller to join their busy team.
Job Description / The role
The Stores and Yard Controller will be responsible for the efficient day‑to‑day running of the stores and yard area. This includes receiving, organising and issuing parts, materials and equipment, maintaining accurate stock control, and ensuring the yard and stores are kept clean, safe and well organised at all times. The role will also involve supporting colleagues and liaising with suppliers as required.
Responsibilities
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or yard environment preferred
- Ability to receive, store and issue goods accurately and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills
- Able to work safely and follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Forklift licence desirable but not essential (training may be provided)
- Basic IT skills for stock control systems and paperwork
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
What is required from you
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, yard or similar role preferred
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Practical, flexible and proactive approach
- Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills, including use of stock systems
- Good understanding of health and safety in a yard or stores environment
- Forklift licence advantageous (training available)
- Full UK driving licence beneficial
