Production Workshop Technician
HOURS: Full time 8am - 5pm

Salary range: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Our client
Our client is looking for a skilled and reliable Production Workshop Technician to join their busy workshop team. This is a hands on role suited to someone with experience operating press brake machinery and laser profile cutting equipment within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Job Description / The role
The Production Workshop Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating workshop machinery to produce accurate, high quality components. You'll work from engineering drawings and production schedules, carrying out quality checks and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components.
- Operate laser profile cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and production schedules.
- Carry out in process quality checks to ensure components meet required tolerances.
- Load and unload materials and handle finished components safely.
- Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
- Report any machine faults promptly.
- Support general workshop and production activities when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
What is required from you
- Previous experience operating a press brake and laser profile cutter within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment.
- Positive attitude, good timekeeping and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Forklift licence or additional fabrication experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
