Our client, based in the coastal region of Pembrokeshire and operating in the Oil & Gas industry, is looking for a Process Safety Lead to join their team.
Job Description/ The role: The successful Process Safety Lead will provide technical expertise and leadership across process safety management within a major industrial operation. The role will focus on developing and maintaining the process safety framework, ensuring major hazard risks are effectively managed, supporting operational and project activities, and driving compliance with COMAH and wider regulatory requirements. You will also play a key role in promoting a proactive process safety culture across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the company’s process safety framework to ensure major risks are effectively managed
- Carry out and support risk assessments, turning findings into practical safety improvements
- Monitor critical safety systems and asset integrity to maintain safe operations
- Provide process safety support across projects, design changes and operational activities
- Oversee the management of change process to ensure risks are identified and controlled
- Support incident investigations and help embed lessons learned across the business
- Ensure compliance with COMAH and other regulatory requirements
- Support emergency response planning and wider operational safety initiatives
What is required from you:
- Degree in Process Engineering or similar
- Strong experience in process safety within a high hazard industry
- Good understanding of COMAH and process safety principles
- Experience supporting projects from design to commissioning
- Knowledge of risk assessment and root cause analysis
- Experience within an HSE or safety focused role
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
