A new position for a Laboratory Assistant will be based at the Felinfach factory, near Lampeter site in West Wales. Newly created, permanent position. Starting salary £30,459 per annum. Monday to Friday working hours (Days).

What you will be doing as a Laboratory Assistant:

  • Assist the Lab Team in maintaining Laboratory standards and timely execution of daily duties.
  • Maintain hygiene standards in the laboratory and coordinate daily work requirements with the Senior Lab Technician and Lab Technicians.
  • Maintain laboratory hygiene reporting records and forms.
  • Ensure the laboratory is maintained with clean laboratory utensils, washing up of the same and storing adequately.
  • Maintain expendable stock levels and timely reporting of stock status.
  • Accurate recording of the stock.
  • Ensure all reference samples are correctly labelled and stored as per requirements.

A little about You:

  • Preferred experience with working in a food preparation environment or laboratory.
  • Preferred experience in a strict hygiene controlled environment; alternatively, a stock control background would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Have a basic understanding of Scientific principles.
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Keen to learn new skills and techniques in order to continually improve and develop within the role.
  • Live close to the factory in Felinfach or within a 40 minute maximum commute; alternatively, in the process of relocating to the area.
  • Own transport is essential due to limited public transport links.
