Our client, based in the picturesque coastal region of Pembrokeshire and operating in the Oil & Gas industry, is looking for a HSE Field Officer to join their team on a 12 month contract.

Job Description/ The role: The organisation is seeking a proactive and hands on HSE Field Officer to join their experienced Health, Safety and Environment team. The role will support site operations by promoting a strong HSE culture, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and providing practical, day to day support to address health and safety challenges. The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for safety matters and help drive best practice across the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive HSE culture across site through engagement and best practice
  • Carry out risk assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance
  • Support incident investigations and ensure actions and learning are embedded
  • Assist with legal compliance, including regulatory requirements and HSE systems
  • Support continuous improvement of HSE policies, procedures, and systems
  • Produce reports to monitor performance and support decision-making
  • Provide practical HSE advice and guidance to site teams
  • Promote safety initiatives and support employee engagement activities
  • Maintain a visible presence on site to influence safe behaviours and working practices

What is required from you:

  • NEBOSH Certificate / Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in an HSE role (oil & gas / petrochemical preferred)
  • Knowledge of COMAH regulations and HSE requirements
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and risk management
  • Familiarity with permit to work systems and safety rules
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Organised team player with strong attention to detail
