We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Sunninghill Vets to work at our Chobham Road branch. Sunninghill Veterinary Centre was established in 2006 by practice principal vet, Johanna Headley, with the aim of bringing a high level of veterinary care to small animals in Sunninghill, Ascot and surrounding villages and towns in Berkshire.

We are a well‑equipped practice and see a varied first opinion caseload, as well as some more complex orthopaedic surgeries.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct consultations to assess animal health and diagnose medical conditions
- Perform routine and complex surgical procedures (e.g. neutering, soft tissue surgery)
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
- Carry out diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging (X-rays, ultrasound), and lab analysis
- Provide preventative healthcare advice (vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition)
- Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and costs
- Handle emergency and critical care cases when required
- Ensure high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and clinical governance
- Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
