Here’s Why We Need you (aka job purpose)


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Purchase Ledger Clerk with a focus on ensuring suppliers are paid correctly and on time.


As the Purchase Ledger Clerk, you’ll need to be well organised and self-motivated to deliver positive outcomes for suppliers and internal stakeholders. You’ll work with and be supported at all times by the Finance team.


Here’s what you’ll do for us (accountabilities)


1.Accurately input and process supplier invoices into the accounting system
2.Accurately maintain up to date financial records ensuring proper electronic filing of all documents and maintenance of logs
3.Engage with Profit Centre owners and their teams to ensure all purchase orders are raised and receipted in a timely manner
4.Monitor the Invoices and Finance mailboxes and ensure all emails are either accurately responded to or forwarded to the appropriate Finance Team member on a timely basis
5.Identify opportunities to improve processes to improve efficiency within the accounts payable processes
6.Provide support for payment runs, expenses reviews and other Finance Team admin tasks

1.Suppliers will be paid accurately and on time maintaining SunLife’s recognised reputation for prompt payment
2.Accurate financial records will be maintained to facilitate reporting and audit
3.Be the SME and first point of call for all purchase ledger related queries
4.Be extremely organised and efficient – you’ll be working with multiple mailboxes, queries and stakeholders

What we want you to bring to the table (skills and experience)


•Previous purchase ledger experience including an understanding of the purchase order to pay process
•Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
•Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams
•Good excel skills and previous experience using an accounting software package (training can be provided on the Business Central system)
•A desire to hit the ground running and support the business to achieve its goals
