Reporting to the Head of Performance, this role will take ownership of advanced data modelling to uncover insights and identify emerging trends across marketing campaign performance. You will provide actionable intelligence to support Marketing in optimising media investment, while driving measurable improvements across multi‑channel KPIs and influencing strategic business outcomes.
Here’s what you’ll do for us (aka accountabilities)
- Lead advanced data modelling and trading analysis to provide Marketing with actionable insights on market and performance trends, enabling strategic decision‑making across online and offline marketing campaigns.
- Design and implement sophisticated data‑driven methodologies and optimise marketing effectiveness and efficiency across all channels, using predictive and prescriptive modelling techniques.
- Own and drive profit analysis on both prospective and actual media spend, identifying opportunities for improved ROI and guiding investment decisions at a strategic level.
- Develop and maintain cross‑channel marketing efficiency models, ensuring Distribution team fully understands downstream impacts of campaign decisions and can act on insights proactively.
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of analysts, ensuring prioritisation of high‑impact work, adherence to deadlines and continuous upskilling in advanced analytics and modelling techniques.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless reporting and analysis processes and translating complex insights into clear, actionable guidance.
- Lead within SunLife’s Testing and Optimisation working groups, providing strategic input on test design, advanced analysis of active tests and recommendations to improve overall conversion and efficiency performance.
- Own competitor, market and consumer analysis, leveraging advanced modelling to detect trends, anticipate market shifts and provide stakeholders with predictive insights that inform strategic decisions.
- Lead as the expert on the Performance Team’s full MI Suite, using advanced analytics and integrated predictive models to answer live trading queries accurately, model potential scenarios and support stakeholder understanding of complex data.

- Model outputs routinely used by Performance and Marketing teams to plan media laydowns and to quantify downstream impacts of strategic decisions.
- Team goals created, maintained and completed on time.
- Team skillset evolves and is tracked via PDPs and performance reviews.
- Stakeholder feedback and satisfaction scores reach and maintain a high level.
- Reporting is consistently used by teams across SunLife.
- Marketing and digital optimisation tests documented and successful tests implemented.
- Conversion KPIs uplifted.
- Relevant insights delivered consistently and on-time.
- Competitor and market analysis used by Marketing teams to make investment decisions.
