About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Compliance Manager to lead technical quality, compliance, and delivery standards across our UK operations. This role will act as the company's responsible technical person for MCS-certified activities and provide technical oversight for solar PV, battery storage and heat pump projects delivered through our installation partner network.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the company’s Responsible Technical Person under MCS requirements
- Maintain compliance with relevant MCS standards and certification requirements
- Support MCS audits and surveillance assessments
- Ensure technical documentation and installation records meet compliance standards
- Monitor changes to industry regulations and best practices
- Review system designs and technical proposals
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and installation partners
- Support complex customer cases and technical escalations
- Conduct quality inspections and site audits where required
- Ensure projects are delivered safely and to a high standard
- Manage and support the Project Coordinator
- Assist with installer onboarding and technical approval processes
- Develop technical procedures, standards and quality controls
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to improve customer outcomes
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 5 years experience within the UK renewable energy industry
- Proven experience with MCS-certified residential installations
- Strong technical knowledge of Solar PV, Battery Storage and Heat Pump systems
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent)
- Relevant Solar PV qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Relevant Heat Pump qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
Preferred
- Experience acting as Responsible Technical Person (RTP) under MCS certification
- NICEIC or NAPIT Qualified Supervisor experience
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
- Heat Geek Advanced Training
- Experience managing subcontracted installation partners
- Experience supporting MCS audits and compliance assessments
Working Arrangement
Hybrid working, minimum one day per week at the Milton Keynes office, regular site visits as required. Normal commuting costs are not reimbursed.
