  • Commissioning & Support: Provide expert on-site and remote commissioning for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and utility-scale PV inverters.

Deliver timely, high-quality technical support to key customers, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams, and distributors.

  • Engineering & Testing: Execute engineering assignments involving the installation, operational testing, and maintenance of residential storage systems and string solar inverters.

Conduct comprehensive electrical and electronic troubleshooting on inverters and their internal components across both field environments and laboratory settings.

  • Advanced

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve regional technical issues, including solar plant DC array anomalies, grid faults, inverter design discrepancies, and hybrid inverter system complexities.

  • Project Leadership & Collaboration: Lead or assist in the delivery of assigned projects.

Act as the primary technical liaison with the R&D engineering team in China to upscale and resolve complex troubleshooting challenges.

  • Reporting & Case

Management: Generate and distribute comprehensive technical service reports to customers and supervisors immediately following site visits.

Take full ownership of open customer service tickets, maintaining proactive status updates and driving issues to resolution in coordination with Headquarters (HQ) support.

  • Continuous

Improvement: Provide actionable feedback to the engineering team regarding potential mechanical and electrical design improvements based on field findings.

Develop standard field service procedures for troubleshooting and maintenance when existing guidelines are unavailable.

  • Inventory & Training: Manage inventory by ordering and restocking required maintenance materials and spare parts.

Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends, and assist the Training Manager in creating technical training materials for customers.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear, concise, and structured feedback channels with both external customers and internal reporting managers.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the PV or BESS renewable industry sector.
  • Experience in troubleshooting or commissioning of commercial and utility scale BESS and PV inverters will be advantageous.
  • Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
  • Must possess customer service, problem-solving skills, possess decision making and analytical skills.
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to closely follow instruction and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the duties effectively.
  • Must be willing to provide service locally and to other African countries.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook) OSHA, NSPA70A, Electrical Safety
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering from accredited university or college.
  • First aid, Firefighting and ORHVS certificates will be advantageous.
  • ECSA and other institution registered Engineer will be advantageous.
  • Other Institute Certification training on Solar/ Energy Renewable will be advantageous.
  • Must be proficient in Electrical Safety & Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
  • Experience in troubleshooting or commissioning utility-scale/C&I BESS or PV inverters is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working as an engineer in the PV or BESS sector.
  • Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
  • Must possess service, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOPs to perform the duties effectively.
  • Must be willing to provide service locally and to other African countries.
