We are seeking an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our small, friendly pre‐school. The successful candidate will work as a team, dedicated to enhancing children's experiences, planning and facilitating age‐appropriate activities that stimulate and support their learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work as part of the team to ensure that Ofsted standards are followed at all times, as well as being a key person for a group of children.
  • To plan and deliver a range of stimulating, exciting and creative activities for the children which encourage independence, motivation and an eagerness to learn, both indoors and outdoors.
  • To observe children and take notes of any problematic behaviour.
  • To assess and monitor children's development and progress, keeping up‐to‐date records and providing feedback to parents.
  • To build and maintain strong, positive relationships with the children, their parents and colleagues.
  • To ensure the setting is a safe, clean and stimulating environment, meeting all health and safety regulations and safeguarding standards.
  • To support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring inclusive practice at all times.
  • To assist with day‐to‐day tasks, including mealtimes, personal hygiene, medical needs and general domestic duties.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Must hold a minimum of a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with young children in an early years or childcare setting, (working within the EYFS) is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills are required, along with a confident, caring and enthusiastic approach.
  • Safeguarding: A genuine commitment to child protection and the welfare of children is vital. The position is subject to an enhanced DBS Check and two satisfactory references. (One of which must be from an early years/childcare setting).
  • Training: The willingness to undertake additional training (e.g., Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding) as required.

Job Type

  • 32.5 hours a week (8:45 am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday)
  • Term Time Only.
  • Starting rate of £13.80 per hour
  • Auto enrolment in a Work Based Pension
