At Sunderland Software City (SSC) our vision is to improve the economy by creating digital tech opportunities and our mission is to make a difference by pushing boundaries. We know that when it comes to digital and STEM, there is a skills gap in the region. Many individuals, including young people, are not aware of the number of employers that are recruiting on their doorsteps. This is accompanied with stigmas surrounding careers in STEM, affecting diversity and the aspirations of young people to enter those careers.
As part of our skills team, the School Outreach Coordinator will play an integral part in addressing these barriers by inspiring, educating and informing young people about opportunities and pathways into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering).
