Secondary Teaching Assistant Grade 4 (SCP 12-17) salary: £28,598 – £31,022 pro rata to weeks worked. Full time – Term Time plus three weeks. Position required September 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers and HLTAs in the planning, preparation and teaching of lessons, addressing learners' educational needs, taking into account prior attainment and special educational needs.
  • Assist in lessons across the age and ability range, challenging and inspiring students of all abilities.
  • Plan and carry out activities with individuals or groups of children.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the curriculum.
  • Set high behaviour expectations and maintain discipline through positive and productive relationships with learners.
  • Show interest in outdoor education.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team, seeking help and advice when needed.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, parents/carers and staff.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school.

Safeguarding: The school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.
