Secondary Teaching Assistant
Grade 4 (SCP 12-17) salary: £28,598 – £31,022 pro rata to weeks worked.
Full time – Term Time plus three weeks. Position required September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support teachers and HLTAs in the planning, preparation and teaching of lessons, addressing learners’ educational needs, taking into account prior attainment and special educational needs.
- Assist in lessons across the age and ability range, challenging and inspiring students of all abilities.
- Plan and carry out activities with individuals or groups of children.
- Contribute to the implementation of the curriculum.
- Set high behaviour expectations and maintain discipline through positive and productive relationships with learners.
- Show interest in outdoor education.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team, seeking help and advice when needed.
- Build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, parents/carers and staff.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school.
