Overview
Sunderland City Council has an opportunity for two Recovery/Enforcement Team Leaders to lead a high-performing team responsible for maximising income collection and ensuring effective enforcement activity. The role includes day-to-day leadership, performance management, and operational oversight to meet targets while maintaining excellent customer service and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of recovery officers and enforcement agents
- Oversee recovery processes, ensuring effective and timely collection
- Monitor team performance and implement improvements where needed
- Provide coaching, support, and development to team members
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Manage complex or escalated cases and make informed decisions
- Analyse performance data and produce reports for senior management
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in collections/recovery or a similar environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle sensitive cases professionally and empathetically
