Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following post within the Economy and Place Directorate.
Responsibilities
- Delivery to specific timescales of a range of coastal projects using appropriate software packages.
- Undertake inspection, feasibility, design, contract preparation and site supervision of a range of coastal projects.
- Production of drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D.
- Production of tender documentation in accordance with relevant industry standard conditions of contract.
- Project management of schemes, including consultation and liaison with clients, the public and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- The use of GIS in identifying and communicating coastal flood risk.
- Provide technical advice to the team, other colleagues in the City Council and partner organisations.
- Part of a standby rota to deal with major flooding events out of hours.
Qualifications and Experience
- High level of expertise in coastal hydraulics and structural engineering.
- Experience of Coastal Protection, particularly of the Lead Local Flood Authority’s and Coastal Protection Authority as set out in the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 (FWMA) and Coastal Protection Act 1949 (CPA).
