An opportunity has arisen within Sunderland City Council for the role of Operations Manager – Mechanical, within Property Services reporting to the Senior Manager – Operational Asset Management. The successful applicant will have a minimum of an ONC/HNC or equivalent in engineering and have a proven track record of delivering building services functions and associated programmes.
Reporting to the Senior Manager you will be responsible for the coordination, programming and management of all mechanical services delivery in conjunction with the work scheduling team. You will be leading a direct workforce and appointing external contractors who will undertake repairs and maintenance operations, and you will be responsible for the management of the team, projects and schemes across the portfolio.
You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of the mechanical service is to agreed contracts, which includes quality, performance and technical standards ensuring that the service meets all relevant legislation, regulations and compliance, within all relevant council policies and procedures.
The ability to work as part of a team is essential as this role involves not only working within the Technical and Operational Team but also with other colleagues across the Local Authority and partnering organisations.
Working here at Sunderland City Council, you will be in receipt of not only the salary on offer, but also a generous annual leave entitlement, which commences at 26 days rising to 31 days after five years of continuous service, you will receive bank holidays in addition to the leave entitlement, a contributory government pension scheme, and access to flexible working. This role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
