Sunderland City Council are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer within the Financial Management Service, reporting to the Principal Accountant within the service. The purpose of the role is to support the provision of a financial management service covering a range of accounting requirements through provision of financial analysis and information.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial advice and analysis to support decision-making.
- Support budget preparation, monitoring, and closedown of revenue and capital budgets.
- Produce final accounts for revenue and capital budgets.
- Use a PC to prepare documents, record information and input data.
Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- AAT qualified or part qualified is desirable; candidates seeking to attain this qualification are encouraged.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and use numerical information are required.
- Experience of financial management and reporting is preferred.
