As a Fixed Play Technician, within our dedicated Local Services team, you can contribute to improving environmental standards within Sunderland. Applicants will enjoy working outdoors, being active and dealing with people. You will work within a team or independently, to provide exceptional services to our residents and visitors, by completing a variety of tasks including play park inspections and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete a variety of tasks including play park inspections and general maintenance.
  • Undertake a range of routine operational tasks requiring the skilled operation of vehicles, power tools or equipment in accordance with work practices to support the provision of front-line services aligned to customer need.
  • Ensure vehicles, tools or equipment are safe to use and properly adjusted prior to operation.
  • Carry out seasonal work tasks outdoors, in all weather conditions.
  • Provide frontline services that meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence and capability to operate vehicles and a variety of power tools and technical equipment.
  • Capability to carry out routine maintenance under direction.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions, policies, procedures and legislation to carry out duties compliantly.
  • Availability to work any day of the week (Monday – Sunday) and flexibility to respond at short notice, including Bank/Public holidays and between Christmas and New Year.
  • Potential to work from any of the Council depots in Hendon, Houghton Le Spring or Washington.
