Sunderland City Council are seeking to recruit a Business Manager to manage the Direct Payment team and support the delivery of the service to the Adult Social Care Directorate. The post is permanent and the contract is for 37 hrs per week. Discussions/applications regarding flexible working in relation to these hours are welcome.

The posts will be of interest to applicants who are skilled and experienced in working within a Business Development role in the following areas:

  • Adult Social Care
  • Direct Payments, in either an Adults or Children’s environment
  • Development and maintenance of excellent practice
  • Performance Management and Analysis
  • Development, implementation of associated policies and processes
  • Managing a direct payment service and providing assurance to Senior Managers and Elected Members on the quality of provision and service delivery across Adult Social Care as directed by the Head of Business Development

The successful applicant will have a wide range of transferable experience including a working knowledge of direct payments and Adult social care within an appropriate background. In addition, excellent ICT skills, good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary area of work. Excellent organisational, prioritisation and negotiation skills will be required to balance a varied and wide-ranging workload with competing priorities.
