As a Digital Inclusion Apprentice, you will be provided with unparalleled support throughout the duration of your apprenticeship.

You will develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside Smart City colleagues while gaining hands-on experience and working towards a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner Level 4 qualification.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist, engage and deliver accessible online and offline sessions, such as one-off events, seasonal campaigns, or weekly sessions from set up, delivery to de-rig.
  • Support the digital recycling device bank and databank services.
  • Provide support to Digital Health Hubs, working in partnership with the Council.
  • Assist Tech Mate volunteers to deliver digital confidence and digital skills support to employees and digitally excluded customers.
  • Provide first-line digital support, delivering excellent customer service, guiding customers to develop digital skills.
  • Contribute towards communication tools, such as the Go Online website and e-newsletter.
  • Follow a structured apprenticeship framework to complete a professional qualification.

The Smart City Team are currently agile working; however, full-time employees are required to attend their place of work at City Hall, Sunderland at least two days per week, so an element of your work may be undertaken from home. One day a week will be set aside for attending an educational institute, in person or online. There may potentially be a requirement to work unsociable hours on occasion.
