Sunderland City Council are seeking to recruit a Commissioning Specialist to work as part of the Commissioning Team that sits within the Adult Services Directorate. The post is permanent and the contract is for 37 hours P/W.
The role involves effective oversight and management of the adult social care provider markets in line with Section 5 of the Care Act 2014. The role will also provide assurance to Senior Managers and Elected Members on the quality of provision and service delivery across the adult social care markets as directed by the Head of Commissioning and Market Oversight/Deputy Chief Operating Officer, SCAS.
The successful applicant will have a range of transferable skills and experience of working in adult or children’s social care and working in or with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated services. In addition, we are looking for excellent ICT skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary area of work. To enable the successful delivery of a varied and wide-ranging workload with competing priorities, the application will be required to have good organisational, prioritisation and negotiation skills.
