Teaching and Learning Support Assistant – Fixed Term Position Grade 3 – SCP 7-11 (£26,403 – £28,142) pro‑rata term time only (39 weeks pro‑rata, 37 hours per week worked). Starting on 1 September 2026. The Head Teacher and Governing Body wish to appoint a committed, flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our inclusive and friendly school. You will work as part of a dedicated team alongside teachers to support the teaching, learning and individual needs of pupils. This post is not open to job share.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Class Teacher in delivering teaching and learning opportunities within the whole class setting and in small groups.
  • Assist in meeting the diverse needs of pupils.
  • Be involved in the full life of the school.
  • Encourage and promote inclusive education, recognising the uniqueness of every child.
  • Display good communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • At least a relevant NVQ Level 3 Teaching and Learning qualification.
  • Show a keen interest in meeting the diverse needs of pupils.
  • Desire to do the best for all children and to be involved in the full life of the school.
  • Commitment to continual professional development.

Safeguarding and Compliance

An enhanced DBS check, pre‑occupational health check, Criminal Record Self‑Declaration Form and Disqualification under the Child Care Act are essential parts of the selection and recruitment process. Appointments cannot proceed without completion of the Disqualification declaration form. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to comply with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Health and Safety Policy and all other school policies.
