We are looking for a skilled and experienced GIS professional to help support the team in the preparation of the new Local Plan. The role will involve creating and editing spatial data and gathering intelligence to inform the policies of the Local Plan. The role will also help provide support to the wider functions of the Strategic and Sustainable Plans team.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate proficient use of GIS software and its application to present spatial data. An understanding of planning policy data and mapping would also be desirable.
Sunderland City Council is strengthening its Strategic and Sustainable Plans Team to help ensure delivery against the Council's ambitious City Plan goals. It is an exciting time to join a successful team and help shape the future of our vibrant and growing city. The Council adopted its current Core Strategy and Development Plan in 2020 and is seeking to develop a new Local Plan at pace in alignment with the reformed planning system.
