About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Move On Officer to join our Housing Options Team. In this vital role, you will support customers living in temporary, emergency, or short‑term accommodation, including placements within the Supported Housing Improvement Programme (SHIP), to move into settled and suitable long‑term housing. You will provide clear advice, tailored support, and realistic expectations around housing options across supported, social, and private rented sectors. Working collaboratively with colleagues, accommodation providers, and partner agencies, you will help vulnerable individuals, many with multiple and complex needs, navigate their journey towards independent living.
Responsibilities
- Visit customers in their accommodation to offer housing advice, practical support, guidance, and interventions that assist their move on.
- Assist with meeting actions on Personalised Housing Plans.
- Liaise with internal teams, external agencies, and support providers to ensure customers receive the right interventions at the right time.
- Advocate on behalf of customers to access appropriate services including substance misuse support, mental health services, debt advice, benefits, and more.
- Build strong relationships with social landlords, private landlords, and supported accommodation providers to broaden move‑on opportunities.
