Post Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Grade: Grade C SCP 3-4 £24,796 - £25,185 pro-rata

Period: Fixed Term 3rd September 2026 – 16th July 2027 (with the possibility of the contract being extended - linked to SEND funding)

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will fall between 8:00am and 3:30pm, in line with school needs, term time only.

Eppleton Academy Primary is a vibrant, creative and forward-looking academy keen to employ an outstanding, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant, to support teaching and learning. We are looking for an experienced candidate who has a genuine interest in working with children; is interested in their development and learning and has good organisational and communication skills.

We ask that all staff working with our children hold qualifications in English and Mathematics that are at least equivalent to GCSE grade ‘C’ and hold a qualification at NVQ Level 2 in childcare or other equivalent qualification.

Duties will include:

  • To support and assist teachers, HLTA’s and TA’s as part of a professional team to support the delivery of quality teaching and learning to help raise standards of learner’s achievement for all pupils, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • To assist with learning activities with groups and individuals, including those with special educational needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities and in line with school policies and procedures.
  • To encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school, and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
  • To undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning.
