Overview

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Bereavement Services team at Sunderland City Council and work within this progressive department.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing grave spaces for private interments and cremated remains.
  • Coordinating family burials throughout 10 cemeteries in Sunderland.
  • Liaising with Funeral Directors and Memorial Masons to ensure service excellence for every service and every family.
  • Overseeing cremation processing at Sunderland crematorium as part of a duty rotation.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivery of customer service.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve high standards and committed to service excellence.
  • Ability to offer advice, support and care during what may be an emotional time for family and loved ones.
