The Opportunity
The Editorial Content Producer is a key member of the Sunderland AFC Content team, responsible for producing compelling written and editorial content that strengthens the connection between the club and its supporters. Reporting to the Content Manager, the postholder will lead on written output across the club’s owned platforms, including the official website, matchday programme, social channels and wider digital publications. This is a role for an experienced storyteller with a passion for football and digital publishing. Working in a fast-paced elite sporting environment, the Editorial Producer will develop engaging stories around Sunderland AFC’s Men’s, Women’s and Academy teams, while maintaining the club’s editorial standards, tone of voice and creative direction.
What We Ask For
- The candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience in editorial, journalism, or digital publishing, ideally within football or elite sport.
- They must have strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience creating engaging content for various platforms.
- Knowledge of CMS, SEO, analytics, and digital best practices is essential.
- The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and experience in live sporting environments.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays are necessary.
- Desirable qualifications include media or journalism accreditation and experience in sports content creation.
You will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS through SAFC.
