About the Facilities Team
Our dedicated team works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every corner of our facilities is in top‑notch condition, ready to host thrilling matches and memorable events. From managing the upkeep of our stadium and training grounds to overseeing logistics for game days, we are committed to excellence in every detail.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work across all SAFC sites in line with the rota, with an awareness of events, functions and fixtures. The role involves cleaning facilities both internally and externally to a consistently high standard, ensuring function suites are prepared and cleaned in accordance with the function schedule. You will carry out daily and deep cleaning duties as required, operate cleaning machinery in line with instructions, and ensure all equipment is kept in good working order, reporting any faults or maintenance concerns to the appropriate manager or supervisor. In addition, the role includes supporting the maintenance team with general labouring tasks and undertaking basic maintenance duties such as seating repairs, machinery and plant health checks, and filter changes. You may be required to operate a forklift truck and other plant machinery. Flexibility is essential, as shift patterns will vary to meet the needs of the business. At all times, you will provide a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers and ensure full compliance with COSHH regulations.
What We Ask For
- At least two years experience in a cleaning role, with a good working knowledge and understanding of COSHH regulations.
- Experience operating cleaning machinery, such as ride‑on sweepers and scrubber‑driers, is essential.
- A full driving licence is preferred but not essential, with no more than three penalty points.
- An IPAF or equivalent licence would be advantageous.
- The role requires a high level of flexibility, as you will be expected to provide cover across company locations as required to meet business demands, on both a temporary and permanent basis.
- An Enhanced DBS from Sunderland AFC is required.
