The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Performance Chef to join the Academy of Light Performance Kitchen team, providing top‑tier catering to support the Football Club’s players and staff. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, innovative meals tailored to the nutritional needs of athletes, working under pressure and ensuring food safety and dietary requirements are met. Collaborating with the Performance Head and Senior Sous Chef, you will help prepare meals that support training, matchday performance, recovery, and injury prevention. You will gather feedback from players and staff to continuously improve menus and ensure quality standards. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for reporting equipment issues and maintaining health and safety compliance.
What We Ask For
We are looking for a highly driven and enthusiastic Chef with a passion for excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to maintaining food safety standards, with a Food Safety Level 2 certification (willingness to work towards Level 3 is essential). You must uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and refectory areas. The role may also involve accompanying teams on trips. An Enhanced DBS from Sunderland AFC is required.
