The Opportunity: Are you passionate about IT and eager to kick-start your career in a dynamic sports environment? Sunderland AFC is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join our team. This role will involve supporting our day-to-day IT operations, assisting with technical support, and gaining valuable hands-on experience in a busy stadium setting. You'll be part of a dedicated team, helping to ensure our stadium and business-critical systems run smoothly during matchdays and events. As an apprentice, you'll have the chance to develop your technical skills through a funded Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship, while contributing to the club’s success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing helpdesk support
  • Maintaining IT infrastructure
  • Assisting with hardware and software deployment
  • Supporting user account management

You’ll be encouraged to learn, grow, and take on new challenges in a vibrant sports environment.

What We Ask For: We're looking for a motivated individual with a genuine interest in IT and technology. You should have at least 5 GCSEs (Level 4 or above), including Maths and English. An A-Level in an IT related discipline is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will possess good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking.

You must be a team player with excellent communication skills, reliable, punctual, and eager to learn. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential, along with a willingness to participate in ongoing training and development. The role requires a proactive mindset, the ability to work well under supervision, and a commitment to adhering to club policies on data protection and safety.

You will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS through SAFC.
