Registered Veterinary Nurse(s) at Sundean Veterinary Group, Hartpury.

Developmental role, full time or part time. Salary up to £33,000 FTE depending on experience. Flexible working patterns considered.

An opportunity to join a supportive team and help shape a growing branch. We are looking for one or two Registered Veterinary Nurses to join our Hartpury branch during an important period of development.

Hartpury is a purpose-built branch within the Sundean Veterinary Group that is evolving following the departure of a long-standing senior nurse. This creates an opportunity for motivated and adaptable nurses to contribute to how the branch works going forward, with support from the wider group.

This role would suit RVNs who enjoy being involved in day-to-day clinical work and who are comfortable working in a developing environment where teamwork, honesty, and realistic expectations are valued. We are open to full time or part time applications and are happy to split the role between two nurses if that helps us build the right team.

The role:

This is a hands-on clinical nursing role with scope for additional responsibility depending on experience and interest. You will not be expected to manage everything alone, and any leadership responsibilities will be introduced gradually with appropriate support.

Clinical responsibilities include:

  • Inpatient care, theatre work and anaesthesia
  • Nurse consultations and laboratory work
  • Supporting the vet and reception team to deliver safe and efficient day-to-day care
  • Maintaining a clean and organised clinical environment

There is also scope for one nurse to take on developmental or senior elements, such as:

  • Supporting day-to-day organisation and workflow at the branch
  • Assisting with stock control and ordering with systems already in place
  • Contributing to standards, protocols and quality improvement
  • Acting as a consistent point of contact within the branch, supported by the wider Sundean team

Working pattern:

Full time (40 hours over 4 days) or part time considered. Current opening days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The branch is currently closed on Thursdays, with scope to reopen once staffing is established. Approximately one in six Saturday mornings at our Lydney branch (8:30am to 1:00pm), shared across the nursing team.

About you:

  • Are registered with the RCVS
  • Enjoy practical, hands-on nursing
  • Are approachable and team-focused
  • Are adaptable and solution-focused
  • Are interested in contributing to the development of a branch over time

Senior experience is welcomed but not essential. We are looking for individuals with a collaborative approach and a willingness to grow with the practice.

Support and development:

  • Access to senior nursing and management support
  • Clear support and guidance when you need help with clinical, operational or team issues
  • Group wide protocols, resources and CPD opportunities

Benefits:

  • Salary up to £33,000 FTE depending on experience
  • 6.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
  • Birthday as a paid day off
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced family friendly policies
  • £550 CPD allowance with 24 hours paid pro rata
  • Certificate support
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Pension with 5% employee and 3% employer contributions
  • Discount platform and discounted staff pet care
