About Us sunday is building the fastest, simplest way to pay in restaurants.

With a quick scan of a QR code, diners can pay, tip, and leave in about 10 seconds.

We believe great products should feel obvious, not complicated, and we focus relentlessly on keeping things simple while earning trust from restaurants and guests at every interaction.

Today, sunday powers payments in thousands of restaurants across the US, UK, and France, helping operators turn tables faster, increase tips, and unlock valuable insights.

We push ourselves to go beyond what’s expected, building with ownership, moving fast, and scaling with ambition as we tackle our biggest growth opportunity in the US.

About The Role

As sunday's Data & AI Specialist, you’ll be the go-to data and AI powerhouse for the CEO Office, a tight-knit team made up of the CEO, Chief of Staff, Entrepreneur in Residence, and CEO Office Associate, all working at the intersection of strategy, operations, and innovation.

This isn't a role for someone who runs reports and waits for the next brief.

You’ll be the person who sees (or finds) a business problem, build the data story behind it, design an AI-powered solution, ship it, and scale it.

You’ll be shaping how sunday thinks about AI at the company level, and driving us to become a genuinely AI-native company.

You’ll report directly to Oscar, our Chief of Staff, and work hand-in-hand with the CEO Office to tackle sunday's most critical challenges, from improving adoption rates to accelerating sales velocity.

This role is open as an end-of-studies internship or a full‑time junior position.

US‑based candidates can join under a VIE contract.

The best performers will have the opportunity to build and lead sunday's AI team as it grows.

Join early, grow fast, and shape the journey!

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the CEO Office's analytical backbone: build dashboards on Metabase or Salesforce, pull data, and run ad‑hoc analyses on demand: fast, accurate, and always actionable.
  • Drive sunday's AI strategy: scout the competitive landscape, identify AI‑native processes we should implement, and think like a founder building a company around AI, not a consultant advising one.
  • Educate the CEO Office on AI and data: make complex topics clear and actionable for Victor and the team, from model developments to the tools we should be using right now.
  • Connect data to business problems: work across adoption, sales velocity, and operational efficiency to identify where AI‑powered insight can move the needle most.
  • Build end‑to‑end solutions: when you spot a problem, don't flag it, fix it. Vibe‑code a solution from scratch, test it, and scale it when validated.
  • Iterate fast, break things, innovate: test ideas quickly, learn from what doesn't work, and never let perfect be the enemy of progress.

About You

  • Strong command of SQL, Python, Looker, Metabase, and ideally Salesforce; you build dashboards and structured data outputs without needing help.
  • Comfortable with AI coding tools like Cursor, you build solutions end‑to‑end, autonomously, from idea to shipped product.
  • You seek granular insights: when something is off, your first reflex is to dive deeper, not summarize.
  • You are deeply entrepreneurial: you see a problem and your instinct is to fix it, not report it.
  • You have a relentless bias for action, you move fast, follow through, and get things done without waiting for perfect conditions.
  • You push through resistance: you're energized by the challenge of bringing AI thinking to people who are skeptical or not yet AI‑native.
  • Nice‑to‑haves
  • Prior experience in a startup, high‑growth environment, AI.
  • Exposure to the hospitality or restaurant tech industry.
  • Interest in competitive intelligence or product strategy.

What We Offer

London, United Kingdom or United States (VIE).

  • VIE compensation package
  • Great London or NYC office with flexible remote working
  • Health coverage (auto‑enrolled)
  • Recruitment Process
  • Intro call with Oscar: 30‑minute conversation to learn about your background and motivations.
  • Fit interview with Mathilde: a deeper conversation about who you are, how you think, and how you work.
  • Manager interview with Victor: meet the CEO directly and discuss the role's vision, stakes, and challenges.
  • Technical case study: a hands‑on exercise assessed by the Tech Team to evaluate your data and AI capabilities.
