Based in London, the National Account Manager will manage and grow key UK retail partnerships across e-commerce and brick-and-mortar channels.
This role combines strategic account management with hands-on commercial execution, developing retailer-specific sales strategies, leading negotiations, monitoring sales and inventory, managing forecasts and purchase orders, and identifying opportunities across CRM, loyalty, GWPs, marketing, and in-store activity.
Responsibilities
- Retail Partner Relationships
- Develop seasonal programs with retail partners across e-commerce and brick-and-mortar channels.
- Lead negotiations on terms, pricing, distribution, space, in-store visibility, and marketing support.
- Lead new product presentations, account reviews, and strategic retailer meetings.
- Build strong relationships with retailer Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, E-commerce, Operations, and Finance teams.
- Spend time in the field reviewing execution, door productivity, customer experience, and competitive activity.
- Driving Performance
- Develop annual account plans, P&Ls, and seasonal sales strategies to deliver sales, profit, distribution, and brand-ranking objectives.
- Develop and research strategies utilizing CRM, loyalty programs, GWPs, and other sales drivers to increase e-commerce and brick-and-mortar sales.
- Conduct competitive analyses to identify market trends, retailer opportunities, competitive threats, and areas for brand growth.
- Maintain Joint Business Plans and evaluate progress against agreed commercial and marketing objectives.
- Inventory Management and Forecasting
- Analyze weekly sales by retailer, door, channel, and SKU, including units, sales value, performance against plan and last year, and door productivity.
- Identify performance changes, risks, and opportunities, with clear recommended actions.
- Manage sales forecasts for new launches and core lines, quantifying revenue risks, opportunities, and required adjustments.
- Monitor out-of-stocks, low-stock positions, weeks of supply, excess inventory, promotional requirements, and launch readiness.
- Track incoming purchase orders from receipt through delivery, proactively addressing delays, outstanding requirements, and next actions.
- Identify incremental purchase-order opportunities based on sell-through, inventory, door productivity, and forecasted demand.
- Review assortment, distribution, and productivity by SKU and shelf, while minimizing returns, testers, and slow-moving inventory.
- Reporting, Strategy and Account Management
- Provide a concise weekly recap covering sales, incoming POs, inventory, forecasts, retailer priorities, marketing opportunities, deadlines, and decisions required.
- Develop strategic recommendations for retailers, doors, and SKUs, including the proposed action, expected impact, timing, and support needed.
- Cross-Functional Working
- Work with Operations, Visual Merchandising, Brand Marketing, PR, Social, Retail, and Education to develop and execute annual retailer plans.
- Coordinate retailer activations across launches, events, promotions, GWPs, retailer media, e-commerce, app and email support, and in-store animations.
- Align launches, promotions, and retailer activity with local and global SRMS teams.
- Use sales and door-performance data to recommend where staffing and education support should be increased or reallocated.
- Preferred Qualification And Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and/or comparable experience, preferably in the beauty industry; skincare experience a plus.
- Experience at a National Accounts Manager level experience required.
- IT skills -advanced level skill set in Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to think and perform creatively.
- Proven ability to follow up and maintain timelines.
- Flexible and adaptive attitude to changing business needs and a fast-paced work environment.
