Senior Project Manager - London - up to £85,000 Job Purpose Reporting to: UK Construction Director We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Structural Project Manager to oversee structural steel installation projects from planning through to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, specifically in steel erection or related structural disciplines. They will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, safety, subcontractors, contractual obligations and client communications to ensure successful project delivery, while leading and coordinating the project team. Duties & Responsibilities Plan and coordinate the project team to oversee all aspects of structural steel installation projects. Manage and deliver project timelines, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are met in line with the programme. Develop and communicate clear project lookahead plans, cascading these to the project and site teams. Use visual planning through models and 2D drawing mark-ups. Organise trades well in advance of mobilisation. Coordinate with clients, engineers, designers and site personnel to ensure clear communication and project alignment. Lead and coordinate project documentation, including contracts, schedules, work packages, RFIs and change orders. Lead the project team through constructability reviews and method statements to align internal stakeholders. Monitor project costs, budgets and financial forecasts. Lead site meetings and report project progress to internal and external stakeholders. Carry out all required project reporting. Ensure, through the project team, health, safety and environmental compliance across all sites. Oversee quality control and ensure work is completed to the required specifications and standards, including project handover. Manage subcontractors and suppliers to meet deadlines and quality expectations. Resolve site issues and technical challenges promptly and effectively. Provide support to the commercial team in relation to scope items. Act as the link between the project and workshop teams. Maintain detailed daily and weekly records and project documentation. Act as project lead, maintaining a continuous and reliable presence on site. Ensure problems are dealt with promptly through Teams calls, client interaction and collaboration with the project team. Ensure all internal and external project reporting is completed in accordance with project requirements. Manage all other duties reasonably associated with the role. Job Specifications Proven experience of 5+ years as a Project Manager within structural steel, steel erection or heavy construction. In-depth knowledge of steel construction methods, materials and site operations. Strong understanding of structural drawings, shop drawings and erection plans. Experience with project planning tools such as Asta Project or Primavera P6. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Competent in contract administration and financial control, working closely with the QS/commercial team. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Proficient with Trimble and Trimble Connect. Proficient in PDF mark-up software such as Bluebeam, particularly for cascading requirements and constructability reviews. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites. CSCS/SMSTS certification in the UK, or equivalent HSE/site supervision certifications if outside the UK. Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is desirable. NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety certification is desirable. Familiarity with BIM and steel detailing software such as Tekla Structures is desirable. Experience with crane lifts and heavy steel logistics planning is desirable. Experience reviewing and managing ITPs. Experience managing O&M manuals and ensuring associated handovers are delivered on time.
