The Role
Wall Steel is looking for an experienced Site-Based Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management and successful delivery of major structural steel projects across Europe. Working closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, clients and main contractors, you will take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of structural steel projects.
- Monitor project costs, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications and scope of works.
- Identify, manage and agree variations and commercial opportunities.
- Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Monitor project expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to maximise project profitability.
- Liaise with clients, main contractors and subcontractors.
- Provide regular commercial reports and updates.
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel, steel erection or construction.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Experience managing valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Confident dealing with clients, main contractors and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction projects and site operations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Commercially driven with strong attention to detail.
- Willing and able to travel extensively across Europe.
