As part of a strategic growth plan, we are recruiting for a Transport Manager to join a FMCG business in the Lisburn area. This is a key role that will evolve as the company expands, offering long-term career progression for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transport operations to ensure on-time, cost-effective deliveries.
- Manage fleet maintenance, servicing, and compliance with transport legislation.
- Optimise delivery routes and schedules to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Ensure full compliance with DVA regulations, operator licensing, and health & safety requirements.
- Lead and develop the transport team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage relationships with 3PL providers and external hauliers.
- Identify and implement cost-saving strategies through carrier consolidation and contract negotiation.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations (FMCG, food manufacturing, or distribution preferred).
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management (Essential).
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance, regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Leadership experience in managing driver teams and logistics staff.
- Proficiency in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
