Our Apprentices are the future of our business. On our 30-month apprenticeship programme you will learn the skills to become a successful Portable Building Maintenance Technician with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you. With the current levels of advancement in equipment technology, there could not be a more exciting time to join us and following successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent role, with one of the best rental equipment providers in the industry.

You’ll work within one of our service centres where you will learn to:

  • Prepare, maintain, repair and refurbish the range of portable buildings available within our Accommodation business division, ensuring they are suitable for customers.
  • Develop and utilise joinery, plumbing, electrical and decorating skills to ensure all buildings are completed to a high standard.
  • Understand how to successfully fit all necessary interior fixtures and prepare cabins for decoration.
  • Assess cabins for damage and potential faults, diagnosing and rectifying any issues while implementing effective repairs to meet Company and operational standards.
  • Prepare buildings for delivery, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records.
  • Understand how to comply with all safety guidelines, legislation, and regulations.
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge.
  • Build excellent working relationships with customers and understand their business needs and requirements.
  • Become an ambassador for our “Customer First” culture, resolving any issues quickly and keeping your colleagues and customers informed, so they feel truly valued.
  • Expand your team working skills with your colleagues and the wider Sunbelt Rentals team.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines as part of a varied workday in a fast-paced operational environment.

We’ll provide you with a comprehensive company induction, role-specific training and apprenticeship support. You will become a part of a larger apprentice cohort where you will be able to form lifelong relationships and engage in a wider support network. We’ll also support your personal growth and development in line with your Sunbelt Rentals career aspirations. You will attend both in-house and manufacturer courses to expand your product knowledge and skills.

Apprenticeship Training: You will be completing a level 2 Construction Assembly & Installation Operative Apprenticeship Standard (Relocatable Modular and Portable Buildings pathway). This will be delivered using a combination of workplace experience to gain practical skills, guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor, and industry recognised training leading to an apprenticeship qualification. You will attend residential placements at a construction college in Norfolk and may be required to travel outside of your normal working hours (all travel & accommodation will be arranged for you).
