We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop and team of technicians, ensuring that targets are achieved and customers are satisfied with the service. This role involves managing performance, driving productivity, and keeping the team motivated to succeed in a safe working environment. You will ensure that equipment is available and assets are kept moving to maximise revenue and customer satisfaction. This will involve close liaison internally with the Hire Desk and externally with customers and spare parts suppliers, so you will be a great communicator and collaborator.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of employees in a workshop environment
- Oversee engineering activities and related knowledge (electronics, mechanics and/or hydraulic systems)
- Ensure ongoing maintenance of equipment in a workshop environment
- Plan and organise work with a methodical approach
- Demonstrate an inquisitive mind and strong problem-solving abilities
- Maintain a customer-focused approach
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure information is shared clearly
Qualifications
- Experience of managing a team of employees in a workshop environment
- Previous engineering experience and related knowledge (electronics, mechanics and/or hydraulic systems)
- Ideally experience in a similar role
- Experience of maintaining relevant equipment in a workshop environment
- Good planning and organising skills with a methodical approach
- An inquisitive mind and good problem-solving abilities
- A customer-focused approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy/IT skills
