About The Role

Are you ready to join a company that truly values its people and your contributions? Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking a Transport Planner who thrives in a busy environment. Reporting to the Regional Transport Manager, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient transport routes across multiple Sunbelt Rentals depots for up to 10 drivers or 8 vehicles. Your role will focus on safe operations, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and routes meet high safety standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Optimizing route efficiency and compliance to improve van/LGV schedules and 3PL usage.
  • Achieving operational performance targets aligned with KPIs such as on-time delivery, vehicle productivity, accident reduction, vehicle uptime, and revenue collection through POD and POC compliance.
  • Proactively reducing missed time-slots and late deliveries.
  • Resolving transport issues from customers and drivers.
  • Briefing and debriefing drivers.

This is a night shift role requiring a full clean DBS check and a 5-year reference history. About You

We will support your training and development to help you succeed. To excel as a Transport Planner, you should have:

  • Excellent organizational skills and composure under pressure.
  • Experience in transport planning, managing multiple locations, drivers, and vehicles, with knowledge of routing, compliance, and O licence regulations.
  • A Transport Manager CPC qualification or working towards it is preferred.
  • Proficiency in transport and workforce management systems (e.g., Paragon, Job Watch, Rotec) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • A personable, proactive, and assertive approach.
  • A commercial mindset understanding the impact of costs.
  • Resilience and quick decision-making skills under pressure.
