About The Role
Are you ready to join a company that really believes people are the heart of the business and values your contribution? Due to continued expansion and increasing demands, weβre looking for a Transport Planner who will thrive in a busy environment. Reporting to the Regional Transport Manager, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient transport routes across multiple Sunbelt Rentals depots for up to 10 drivers or 8 vehicles. You will play an active role in ensuring the safe operation of our transport activities, maintaining high safety standards for drivers, vehicles, and routes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for route efficiency, leading review processes and ensuring compliance to optimise van/LGV schedules and 3PL usage.
- Deliver operational performance to meet KPI targets, including on-time delivery, vehicle productivity, accident reduction, vehicle uptime, and revenue compliance.
- Proactively reduce missed time-slots and late deliveries.
- Resolve transport issues arising from customer or driver concerns.
- Brief and debrief drivers to ensure clear communication and safety.
This role requires passing a full clean DBS check and providing a 5-year reference history.

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience in transport planning, managing multiple locations, drivers, and vehicles, ideally with a Transport Manager CPC qualification or working towards it.
- Proficiency in transport and workforce management systems such as Paragon, Job Watch, Rotec, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- A personable, proactive, and resilient attitude with a 'can-do' approach.
- An understanding of the impact of costs on transport operations and the ability to react quickly to changing circumstances.
