About The Role
Are you an Infrastructure Engineer ready for your next challenge? Join our team at Sunbelt Rentals UK, where our mission is to deliver a world‑class experience and our vision is to own the future of rentals. In this role, you'll provide technical support across a range of internal systems, working to agreed quality standards and SLAs. The role is based on a Hybrid pattern with a minimum of one day per week in the office.
Core Duties
- Install, configure, and support servers and management platforms, including VMware and Hyper‑V
- Document technical specifications and reports
- Support infrastructure projects through capacity planning and design
- Share knowledge across teams and support project activities
- Provide BAU and out‑of‑hours support to the business
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support a varied server/network estate
- Monitor systems, resolve issues, and ensure infrastructure integrity
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity problems
- Perform routine maintenance (e.g. backups, patching, hotfixes)
- Recommend and implement solutions to optimise performance
- Work on multiple concurrent systems and project initiatives
About You
You’ll bring relevant experience from a similar role, ideally within the equipment rental or construction industry. You’re calm under pressure, a strong communicator, and a team player with a proactive mindset.
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills
- Advanced troubleshooting across Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange and hypervisor platforms
- Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure and M365
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Methodical approach with attention to detail
- Ability to interpret technical issues from non‑technical descriptions
- Operational IT support experience in a multi‑site, complex network environment
- Full UK driving licence
