This is a Regional role based in the Midlands with the autonomy to manage your own diary. You will work by combining homeworking with travel to our sites as well as occasional visits to our head office in Warrington. We are looking for someone who has a true passion for People and HR with a desire to support the development and delivery of a people plan that enables a high‑performance culture.
You’ll have the credibility to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in a multi‑site environment and a collaborative approach. In this role, you will also provide a top‑class HR advisory service to the business. Case work will be yours to manage from cradle to grave, providing both exposure and development in areas such as upskilling, coaching, workforce planning, employee relations, TUPE, and Projects.
You will receive development and support from your line manager, the People Business Partner, and together you will ensure that the People function operates efficiently, effectively, and in line with current legislation. You will also work closely with the wider People team to assist in delivering our exciting company‑wide people initiatives and projects.
We want to ensure that everything we do from a people perspective is aligned to our Company mission, vision, and values. You’ll ensure that our people are highly engaged, high performing, and working collaboratively to help the Company deliver its goals.
What can we offer you in return?
You’ll be joining a highly successful FTSE100 company, the UK’s largest equipment rental provider. We provide an industry‑leading flexible rewards package including generous holiday allowance (with the opportunity to buy and sell annual leave), life assurance, retail discount scheme, employee recognition awards, and a great Company pension scheme. You will also be entitled to a Company Car/Car Allowance, Laptop, Phone, and Bonus Scheme as part of this role.
About You
To excel in this role, you will hold a CIPD level 5 qualification (or working towards), strong knowledge of employment legislation and current HR practices, and the confidence to advise stakeholders of all levels. Ideally, you’ll have extensive experience as an HR generalist who is used to working autonomously and be well‑versed in advising and coaching managers in relation to ER issues and beyond.
Excellent communication skills are critical if you are to succeed at building relationships and influencing your key stakeholders. You will be confident and able to work alone, advising managers day to day as well as working as part of a larger team. Managing your own workload, travel will be expected as required across the operational network, and overnight stays will likely depend upon diary commitments. We anticipate applicants will be living in a location with good transport links to effectively operate in this role. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
