Based in a local service centre on a day-to-day basis you will be required to manage the busy yard and team of yard operatives to ensure that all targets are achieved and customers are satisfied with the Service. Working alongside colleagues, you will be a great team player and take pride in your workplace and working environment, making sure that high standards are maintained whilst complying with company procedures and processes. Communicating effectively, ensuring that your Line Manager and Customers are kept informed as required.

As Foreperson your duties will include:

  • Daily management of workshop and yard staff.
  • Organise returns, repairs and management of stock in yard.
  • Monitoring all off hired equipment ensuring all repairs and damages are recorded accordingly within the company guidelines and Service centre manager is informed.
  • Co-ordinating vehicles movements in, out and around the yard.
  • Ensuring that the yard and any covered space is kept tidy with “ready for hire” equipment, “equipment off-hired not checked” and “equipment to be repaired” stored within their designated areas.
  • Ensure the yard complies with Health and Safety standard and the team complies with and follows the relevant procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is repaired and maintained in line with manufacturers guidelines.
  • Carry out regular stock checks on material to ensure accuracy of the counts of equipment.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the yard during regular stock takes.
