About The Role

On our 42-month apprenticeship programme you will learn the skills to become a successful Engineering Maintenance Technician with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you. With the current levels of advancement in technology, there could not be a more exciting time to join us and following successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent role, with one of the best rental equipment providers in the industry.
You’ll work within one of our service centres where you will learn to:
- Service and repair a diverse fleet of specialist machinery & equipment to meet company and manufacturer standards
- Inspect and function test a wide range of equipment
- Assess machines to ensure they meet the correct operational and safety guidelines
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults
- Order replacement parts and fit them correctly
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records
- Develop in-depth product knowledge
- Build excellent working relationships with customers and understand their business needs and requirements
- Become an ambassador for our “Customer First” culture, resolving any issues quickly and keeping your colleagues and customers informed, so they feel truly valued
- Expand your team working skills with your colleagues and the wider Sunbelt Rentals team
- Manage multiple tasks and deadlines as part of a varied workday in a fast-paced operational environment
We’ll provide you with a comprehensive company induction, role-specific training, and apprenticeship support. You will become a part of a larger apprentice cohort where you will be able to form lifelong relationships and engage in a wider support network. We’ll also support your personal growth and development in line with your Sunbelt Rentals career aspirations. You will attend both in-house and manufacturer courses to expand your product knowledge and skills, and opportunities for progression to higher level qualifications are available.
Apprenticeship Training
You will be completing a level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This will be delivered using a combination of:
- Workplace experience to gain practical skills
- Guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor
- Industry recognised training leading to an apprenticeship qualification.
You will attend residential placements at a training centre which may require a significant commute every few weeks, time away and travel outside of your normal working hours. All expenses are covered and arrangements made for you.
