Overview
Zertus UK & Ireland is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team. In this role, you will run the end-to-end payroll operation for our small, but busy Lir Chocolate's manufacturing site, managing weekly and monthly payrolls for a workforce that fluctuates across the year. You’ll ensure accurate, compliant processing of pay, including shift patterns, overtime, premiums and statutory payments. This role can be based at either Lir Chocolates (Navan, Ireland) or Kinnerton Confectionery (Fakenham, UK).

Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

Responsibilities
- Process payroll for permanent and temporary employees accurately and on time.
- Manage statutory payments including sick, maternity and holiday pay.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Respond to employee payroll queries clearly and professionally.
- Generate payroll reports and support financial reconciliations.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
This role is suited to someone who enjoys a practical, delivery-focused role. It is ideal for a mid-level payroll professional looking to run the day-to-day site payroll operations. We're also looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- Comfortable and self-sufficient in running payroll independently, whilst collaborating with the wider HR and Finance team.
- Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and tax.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organisation and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience processing payroll for a manufacturing or similar business, with an understanding of varied shift patterns, pay rates and overtime payments.
- IPASS qualification (or equivalent) - desirable but not essential.
