We are looking for a confident and capable Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can take charge of the kitchen and run a service confidently when the Head/Sous Chef is away.

The Role

  • Running the kitchen during designated services and when the Head/Sous Chef is off
  • Leading, motivating and supporting the kitchen team
  • Ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
  • Managing prep, service and kitchen organisation
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
  • Monitoring stock, deliveries, wastage and kitchen costs
  • Training and developing junior members of the team
  • Staying calm and making good decisions under pressure
  • Helping with menu development and maintaining kitchen standards

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience, minimum 2 years, as a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef at a 4 or 5 star Hotel
  • Someone who is genuinely capable of running a busy kitchen independently
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • A passion for quality food, high standards and attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures
  • Reliable, professional and positive attitude
  • Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on
