About The Role

Bluebank School is a dedicated, compassionate and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils to engage in learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential both in and beyond the classroom.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning and develop independence.
  • Support teachers to plan and deliver individual education and behaviour programmes.
  • Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development through positive, nurturing approaches.
  • Record and monitor educational, social, and behavioural progress in line with school systems.
  • Support behaviour management in the classroom using agreed school frameworks.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and preparation of resources.
  • Accompany pupils on educational visits and, occasionally, assist with transport when required.
  • Supervise pupils throughout the school day, including lunchtimes, promoting positive social interaction.

Who We Are Looking For

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above)
  • Flexible, team-focused approach with strong communication skills
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Resilient, proactive, with high expectations for pupils
  • Basic IT skills and confidence managing paperwork
  • Full driving licence
  • Willingness to undertake training and professional development
  • Experience working with children or young people (educational, childcare, or SEND experience desirable, including autism)

Bluebank School is a brand-new Acorn Education provision opening January 2026 in Whittington Moor, Derbyshire. The co-educational school will cater for up to 60 pupils aged 11 to 16, offering specialist support for children and young people with complex needs, including SEMH difficulties.
