The Health Systems Associate Director (HSAD) position is a field leadership role supporting Sun’s Branded Portfolio in the Oncology, Immunology, and Dermatology Market. This position will identify and develop working relationships with key decision makers in the operations and management of designated targeted IDN’s and potentially additional organized customer groups to ensure patients have access to Sun Branded products. These accounts will include the Nation’s Leading Academic Centers, Centers of Excellence, Organized Super‑Groups and other entities of value. The HSAD will place themselves in a position to influence and educate the formulary and/or purchasing decision‑making processes at all levels, including Medical, Clinical, Policy, and C‑Suite executives. This position will be responsible for implementing the company’s strategic objectives and provide cross‑functional leadership and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to drive appropriate Sun Brand utilization and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop working relationships with key decision makers within these corporate accounts from a clinical, administrative, pharmacy, and C‑Suite perspective.
- Educate the formulary and decision‑making process at all levels.
- Gain acceptance and support of Sun Pharma Products both clinically and administratively by key decision makers / stakeholders to ensure patients have access to care within their systems.
- Analyze and understand Brand opportunity for targeted accounts and work appropriately with cross‑functional partners (Field Sales Managers, FRM Managers, Field Medical, PRD, etc.) to optimize access and utilization for Sun Branded Products within targeted accounts and to ensure pull through across the system.
- Expert knowledge of the B&B process, Medicare Part B, 340B, as well as commercial reimbursement, specialty pharmacies and identifying alternative sites of infusion are required.
- Develop and execute Strategic Account Plans in cooperation with relevant functions (MSLs, Medical Affairs, Marketing and Pricing).
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with key account personnel.
- Establish strong relationships with cross‑functional partners and provide on‑going clear communication to ensure clarity of access positions and support pull‑through efforts.
- Operate consistently with Healthcare Compliance guidelines.
- Arrange for Senior Management customer interactions as needed.
- This is a field based position, requiring significant travel to assigned IDN Accounts and field based/home office based meetings and trainings.
Education & Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of account management experience or other Managed Markets experience is preferred.
- Experience working in channels such as large Payers, national and regional health plans, state and local governments, PBM's, SPP's and Physician Medical Groups.
- Prior experience with director and senior level executives within the assigned geographical area preferred.
- Potential candidates must have a solid understanding of key public and private Payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies, coverage, health policy trends and current business challenges.
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with a demonstrated track record leading highly matrixed, cross‑functional work teams comprised of high‑level managers and executives.
- Analyzes and uses qualitative and quantitative data and incorporates understanding into decision criteria.
- Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense of urgency.
- Able to act as an advocate for the Sun Pharmaceuticals and the corporation’s commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Creative/innovative thinker with an understanding of legal/regulatory environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly developed analytical skills with demonstrated ability to conceptualize issues and synthesize data to provide strategic direction.
- Acts as a role model for others in line with Sun’s values.
Compensation & Benefits
The presently‑anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $143,500 to $225,500. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the IC Commission Plan and is eligible for the Receipt of Company Vehicle. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time. The compensation and benefits described above are subject to the terms and conditions of any governing plans, policies, practices, agreements, or other materials or documents as in effect from time to time, including but not limited to terms and conditions regarding eligibility. If hired, employee will be in an “at‑will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company, or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
